Uluberia is a city and a municipality of Howrah district in the Indian state of West Bengal. This city is famous for its industrial belts. There exist about 70 industrial units in Uluberia Industrial Park. As of 2011 India census, Uluberia had a population of 2051874. It is situated on the bank of River Hooghly.

Travel distance by road from Kolkata is 41.5 KM and the travel time is approximately one hour. It is well connected by National Highway No-6 also known as Bombay Road. Distance from Howrah railway station to Uluberia through railways is 31 km and the travel time is less than one hour. The main road passing through the heart of the city is Orissa Trunk Road. The river Hooghly surrounds the southern part of this town. There is ferry services from Uluberia to Budgebudge and other towns of Howrah and South 24 parganas.
